The Riach Contracting website is a non-framed open architecture site with a complete Content Management System.

The design and technical infrastructure provide an underlying framework for many features which are not yet implemented, so that the website can grow as required within the original design.

Ardell Morton - Scottish Landscape Painter

This website is a showcase for the evocative art of Ardell Morton. The site provides a thumbnail image browser with customisable display, as well as an enlarged image viewer and magnifier.

Deceptively simple in appearance, but powerfully coded, the Ardell Morton website is database driven with comprehensive content management.

The site can display an information page with each painting, and has online shopping and payment which can be switched on and off as required.

Neukleus - East Neuk of Fife Centre of Health

An informational website which does not require constant changes to site content and so does not need a content management system.

The Neukleus website has direct single level navigation allowing very easy access to simply presented pages.

This is a good example of a well structured graphically appealing website designed as a versatile online brochure.

This is a website which must constantly be updated to reflect the Cameron Connection development as the project evolves.

The site is interesting in that it presents online video material and large scrolling maps, as well as downloadable documentation.

As the site evolves Helios fully manage the content while the client provides information on all aspects of a complex farm development project.

This website uses a predominantly graphical presentation as appropriate to display the high quality of the distinctive items for sale.

This type of site design can accommodate large detailed images whilst retaining efficient navigation and search engine optimisation.

The site is easy to navigate and the flexible underlying code design allows for additional facilities when required as the site is developed.

Essentially this form of web site design is intended to showcase a relatively limited number of items with strong visual appeal.

Using a black background to emphasise lighting and colour effects allows this website to generate an appropriate ambience for the products on sale.

The site has comprehensive product indexing and search facilities and is user-updateable.

This is a largely text based informative website supported by a database. A content management facility allows the client to upload all the text content.

Use of live RSS news feeds ensures that the site remains informative and topical.

The site is currently in the initial phase of a planned development. Built into the site's code is a facility for high security online login and data collection.

This is a colourful and immediate site where the client maintains the whole of the presented information using a simple content management system.

The site is interesting in that it presents all information directly on the top layer of the site. Simple "Browse" and "Search" facilities at the sides of the page feed information directly into the central panel, without ever leaving the front page of the site.

This is a fairly sophisticated website we wrote for a town centre management group. The Kirkby site is fully equipped with an advanced content management system, and the whole of the site content was installed by the client using this system.

The site is quite "young", but has great potential for growth. It has many useful active features, a client-programmable event calendar and site search facility.

This website has four sub-sites within one framework and is a good example of simple navigation in a multi level site.

The site has separate navigation menus for each section, controlled by a simple selector on the left of the page.

This website design is potentially large and easily expandable, but is only lightly populated in its present state.

The Purvis Family Tree

This is a large genealogy website written partly by Helios and modified from "The Next Generation" genealogy package.

This site is the only instance of Helios using software not programmed exclusively "in house".

Taking advantage of the complex existing functionality of "The Next Generation" allowed us to avoid the time-consuming labour of writing new code in a very specialised area.

The Betty Norton Gallery

This is an online art gallery maintained entirely by the site owner, the artist Betty Norton. Betty has built the entire content of her gallery site using the Helios content management system.

The Betty Norton Gallery has the facility to allow viewers to make a selection of images to review later, and a fully functional online shop with e-commerce and online payments.

A highly functional website, ideal for artists wishing to sell online and present their work to the world attractively.

Online Trossachs

This website is a Scottish Tourism information resource offering a wide range of advanced features, a powerful versatile image gallery, a free ecard facility, and interactive map resources.

The site has an online accommodation and local resource directory, and can display all directory items via direct representation on a Google Map.

Online Trossachs welcomes voluntary contributions of information, and will include your business details in its online directory free of charge.

This colourful and attractive site was largely designed in terms of its graphics by the client.

Helios supplied the underlying code and e-commerce facility, and implemented the ideas of the client to produce a successful business website.

Simplicity, direct navigation, colourful graphics, and unpretentious text make this site a good model for small e-commerce ventures.

This website is interesting in that it has an unusual product pricing structure associated with the shopping cart.

Most products have multiple variations and pricing is based on quantity packages. The shopping cart calculates pricing and carriage from tables which can be easily updated by the site owner.

The Claywork website has a slightly more advanced shopping cart than normal, with currency conversion and international shipping options.

This website has the usual Helios e-commerce content management system which allows the site owner, Derbyshire based potter Moira Clinch, to update all products and prices. The product range is currently growing fast as Moira introduces new items.

Hans Kayser

This website has a large collection of text articles, managed very efficiently using a frame based site design with a left hand expanding menu system. The multi-level expanding menu can be extended easily and incorporates a sophisticated graphical presentation with indented guides.

The Hans Kayser site is also unusual in that it presents complex information of a technical nature, incorporating diagrams and equations.

The Atom and the Octave

This website is dedicated to the work of Maryel Gardyne. Her book "The Atom and the Octave" is the culmination of many years of research, and draws together compelling evidence of the universal relevance of harmonic relationships and proportion in nature.

Maryel Gardyne's book integrates the work of many philosophers and scientists, ranging from Kepler and Goethe, through Hans Kayser, to modern quantum theory.

The Atom and the Octave website is simple in structure and presents unobtrusively a very important body of knowledge.

This website is again largely text based and is very simple. It has a single level of navigation through text pages, all of which can be updated readily by the client.

This is a good example of a simple to manage, cost effective, and practical solution to internet self-publishing.

The site is worth a visit just to read the interesting and unusual content......

This website is a large online shop with a very wide range of gift items on display. The site has been designed with a specific graphical "look and feel" to create an appropriate setting for the colourful and diverse product range.

The site demonstrates the value of creating a fully bespoke online shop with a unique graphical design, as opposed to using a standard templated design which would present the items for sale in a much more bland and standardised setting.
